Opinion part 2

Questions

1. One idea i got from this part is that I don't have to write about something that is a big deal to everyone. I just have to write about something that I care about.
2. I'm not going to have a personal story in my essay. I'm just going to make a point.
3.  a. I'm going to write in first person.
     b. I will try not to make my essay a complete rant.
     c. I will try not to barrage the reader with facts.

Essay

Star Wars is a big part of me. I've grown up with all the movies. I love the original, prequel, and the new trilogy. But there's a part of me that is not in support the new creation of the new movies. This series is iconic to lots of people and I don't want to see it tarnished.
My opinion is not going to stop Disney from making more movies. The last main series film, The Force Awakens, made over 200 million dollars in the box office. So there's obviously a demand for new movies. If Disney was to stop making these movies, it would be like throwing money into a giant fire. So unless people stop watching these movies (which they won't), we'll never see the last Star Wars movie. I think that's a shame.
I think Star Wars is ready to be remembered, not anticipated. It's nearly been killed off before. The series had some closure, but then Disney came around. They brought Star Wars back from the dead. I'm not saying that Disney did the wrong thing. People want more Star Wars and will continue to buy tickets to every movie. I'm one of those people. However, there seems to be no end in sight for Star Wars. Disney is just going to pump out more movies. I just think the series deserves to retire and become more than a way for Disney to make money.
So far, Disney has done a pretty good job with the Star Wars series. Critics and fans alike have praised the films. This is all well and good but I don't want to give Disney a chance to screw it up. Disney is not flawless. They'll mess up one of these movies eventually and people aren't going to be happy. There's still resentment over the prequel films and it's been nearly two decades since The Phantom Menace.  With Disney making a new Star Wars movie every year for seemingly forever, they’re going to something wrong and are going to get trashed for it. I don’t want to be around for this. Disney has done a good job with Star Wars, Marvel, and I’m sure they’ll do great things with other properties. But I just don’t want Disney to mess up.
Star Wars has left behind a legacy that I doubt any franchise will top. It’s beloved by many, and known by all. The original six movies have made millions and continue to make money to this day. I know this essay won’t convince the corporates at Disney to stop making new Star Wars movies. Why would they? Milking the Star Wars franchise is probably one of the most successful ventures Disney has had. But, as a fan of all things Star Wars, I ask Disney to stop. It’s had its time. Let another movie take the world by storm.
