Tales by Light
1. The photographer in this episode is Eric Cheng. He takes pictures of "dangerous" animals that are sort of victimize animals perceived to be bad.
2. I found it interesting that the photographer perceived these creatures in a more peaceful way. When I look at pictures of aquatic life, it usually looks mysterious and sorta scary. When I looked at Cheng's photos, they were just a lot more homey if that's a good word.
3. I learned that the demonization of these animals has serious repercussions. These animals can be in serious danger when people perceive them as dangerous. For example when the Jaws movie was released, an increase of shark deaths was reported.
4. A lot of the pictures taken in this episode are underwater. I don't see a lot of underwater photography so I think it's pretty interesting. I do like the location jsut because it is unique. When I do see photography underwater, it's usually taken on a super blurry GoPro or something like that, so I liked the change in quality.
5. This work is important because it protects animal species that would be vulnerable without Eric's contribution. It is essential for people to do similar work to Eric in order to protect Earth's creatures. We cannot take these organisms for granted.
